You have to start somewhere

This is the beginning of my Blogging site Pinot Noir. I like what winemakers all over the world have made with this grape varietal. I enjoy tasting the results of their labour.

The Heartbreak Grape: A California Winemaker’s Search for the Perfect Pinot Noir

This book by Marq De Villiers was the inspiration to pursue the pinot noir grape. Not the movie Sideways. I aquired an appreciation for the taste and flavours of pinot noir as I matured in age. I still like all kinds of wine varieties but it is the pinot noir that I like the most.

So this is a labour of love. I am not a professional writer. I am a wine amateur with no formal training. I did complete a product knowledge course from the LCBO (the Liquor Control Board of Ontario), and I have tasted lots of wine over a number of years. I belong to a wine club which has been going on for over 10 years. A great bunch of guys who enjoy learning about wine. Blind tasted and scored. In fact that is the only time I score wine.

I do not believe in giving wines scores anymore. I like to use my conscious mind rather than my intelligent mind to evaluate my wine experiences. I believe everyone should use their senses to discover the true nature of a wine. From the look of the wine bottle colour of the wine, sound of the pop taste of the wine and aroma of the wine. So where should I start this journey of Pinot Noir?

Lets start with the glass. The container that holds your pinot noir.
